Konark

Konark is one of the famous tourist destinations in India when it comes to spiritual tours. It is a small town in the Puri district of Odisha. The fame is primarily for the Sun Temple, which is also known as the Black Pagoda, built with black granite. The temple is also recognized as World Heritage Site. There is a collection of sculptures which are preserved in the Sun Temple Museum.

The summers are from March to May and monsoons from June and remain till October. November, December and January are the most pleasant months.

• The Sun temple of Konark also known as Melakkadambur Shiva temple. This temple is in the form of a chariot and is one of the oldest temples of Konark built during the period 1075-1120.
• Konark Dance Festival, which is held every year in December, showcasing classical Indian dance forms, (including the traditional classical dance of Odisha) is highly popular among tourists. Many foreigners visit especially during December to witness this festival.

Chandrabhaga Beach is one of the most colorful and beautiful beaches in Odisha. It is surrounded by palm trees and is near to the Sun Temple. One can spend quality time around the beach.
