Mumbai, also known as Bombay, is the capital of Maharashtra. Mumbai is the second most populous city in India and is renowned as a financial, commercial and entertainment centre. The city welcomes thousands of people every day both for the purposes of business and pleasure.
Weather
Mumbai has a wet and dry climate during summers from March to June, and heavy rains in July. Winter is cooler and dry.

Mumbai Tourist Attractions
Mumbai City is well loved both by locals and travellers. The prime tourist attractions which one should not miss while in Mumbai include:
- Gateway of India: Is a monument built during the British Raj in Bombay. It is located on the waterfront in the Apollo Bunder area in South Mumbai on the Arabian Sea.
- Haji Ali Dargah: Is a mosque located on the coast of Worli area in the South of Mumbai. It is a beautiful example of Indo-Islamic architecture. The Dargah is one of the most admired attractions by travellers.
- Siddhi vinayak Temple:This is a Hindu temple devoted to the popular Lord Shree Ganesha. The inner roof of the temple is plated with gold, along with the central statue of Ganesha.
- Kanheri Caves: It is a group of rock-cut monuments that are located north of Borivali on the western outskirts of Mumbai and located within the forests of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park.
- Prince of Wales Museum: Also known as the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya ,the museum is built in Indo-Saracenic style architecture, and also depicts the Mughal, Maratha and Jain style. The museum is fenced by palm trees and flowers. It has Indus Valley Civilization artifacts, and other ancient India ruins from the time of Guptas, Mauryas, and Chalukyas.
Mumbai Beaches
Mumbai is surrounded by the majestic Arabian Sea and therefore has a number of beaches. The two most popular are:
- Juhu Beach: This is the most famous beach surrounded by the Arabian Sea to the west. Juhu Beach is in the most posh area of the city where many Bollywood celebrities reside.
- Chaupati: It is one of the most prominent public beaches adjacent to Marine Drive in the Girgaon area of Mumbai. Thousands of people visit this beach every year on Ganesh Chaturthi day. On regular days, one can find bhelpuri, panipuri, and pav bhaji hawkers on the beach selling snacks every day until mid-night.
Mumbai Water/Adventure Sports
As Mumbai has many beaches, one can go for various quick options in water and adventure sports. Chaupati beach is well-known for all water sports activities, whereas Mandwa beach is another good option. Another option is Alibagh which is two hours south from Mumbai.
Mumbai Night Life
Mumbai is well known for its Bollywood film industry, and the city offers entertainment 24x7 to its people. Be it clubs, lounges or movie theaters, which are open all through night.
